Mfangano Island Care and Compassion CBO is a charity organization that is meant to bridge the gap in medical health and wellness in our community by creating awareness and advocacy within our communities concerning non communicable diseases, chronic illnesses in children and adults who are incapacitated by poverty to seek better healthcare. Mfangano Island has about 30,000 people and over 10000 families, yet only a quarter are able to afford basic healthcare. Due to the fact that it is an Island, with major underdevelopment, access to the mainland for emergency medical services is also a toll-order. The organization in collaboration with the ministry of health provide drugs, support home visits, and counseling services to these clients. Other areas of focus include Reproductive health, mental health and Gender based violence sensitization and advocacy. The organization Focuses on the needy in our community. Those who are unable to afford basic healthcare, but are living with non-communicable diseases, chronic health issues needing palliation, Mental health counseling, reproductive Health Education, and appropriate referral and linkage where necessary, and environmental conservation.
